About Us
More Than a Yoga Studio, We're a Movement
Latina Sweat Project is a Chicago-based wellness nonprofit dedicated to making yoga and holistic health accessible to underserved communities.
We're Open!
Our New Studio Is Now Open
We're thrilled to announce our new dedicated studio is now open! This milestone follows a year of rapid growth and community demand, with over 250,000 registrations for our free wellness programming. Come experience our new home, built to welcome neighbors and longtime supporters.
Our Story
Founded in 2022, Latina Sweat began as small pop-up yoga classes in Little Village and mutual aid sessions inside migrant shelters. What started as an effort to normalize yoga in underserved neighborhoods quickly evolved into a movement that combines wellness with community care.

A Year of Growth
Over the last year, our community's passion and dedication have fueled incredible expansion and impact.
- Expanded from one monthly class to daily programming across SW Chicago.
- Partnered with shelters, parks, and schools to bring wellness directly to communities.
- Served migrant families, women returning from incarceration, and youth in neighborhoods most impacted by systemic inequities.
- Built a pipeline of new BIPOC yoga instructors from the community, supporting teacher certifications.
- Hosted large-scale community events, including rooftop classes, park district collaborations, and mutual aid drives for clothing, hygiene products, and food.
Our New Home
Our new studio represents not only a space for yoga, but a home for community healing, leadership, and cultural celebration. Programming will include daily yoga classes, a 200-hour teacher training program, restorative sessions for community partners such as run clubs, food pantries, and ongoing mutual aid initiatives.
Latina Sweat’s impact has been made possible by its community, from mothers and students who showed up to the very first free classes, to volunteers who help set up mats and distribute food, to partners like Lululemon who have supported teacher certification and large-scale events.

Veronica Quiñones
Director
Veronica is a proud Mexican-American born and raised in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. As the daughter of immigrants and a lifelong resident of an underserved community, she has witnessed firsthand the impact of racial and economic disparities. These lived experiences led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a focus on social equity and community well-being.
As Vice President of the Latina Sweat Project, Veronica plays a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and accessible space for underrepresented communities.
